Overwatch Tier List – Current Meta

Even after nearly five years on the market, Overwatch remains one of the most popular competitive games. While many eyes are presently focused on the development of Overwatch 2, it has become evident that we will not be able to play it this year.

Meanwhile, players must make do with what the current game has to offer. Fortunately, Overwatch is now in excellent condition. While there hasn’t been a new hero added to the game since the debut of Echo in April of last year, continuous balancing updates have kept the game feeling fresh. It also offers one of the most dynamic and interesting metas in the game’s history, with a plethora of lethal characters to pick from.

Overwatch’s 32 heroes form one of the most iconic casts in recent e-sport history.

Because of the interesting gameplay mechanics and the balancing concentrating on team cohesion, each hero is fascinating to play with. Nonetheless, Overwatch tier list, like most games, allows some heroes to shine brighter than others in competitive engagements.

The purpose of this list is to offer insight on the current Overwatch pecking order. Continue reading if you want to discover which heroes to play in the current meta.

Overwatch Tier List Methodology

This tier list is compatible with the game’s competitive 26th season and is applicable to all ranks, with the exception of Grandmaster.

Prior to the start of the season, all buffs, nerfs, and patches are acknowledged. The heroes are ranked based on a variety of criteria, including

  • Pick rate in competitive play: the frequency with which a hero is chosen in Bronze to Grand master-ranked games.
  • Win rate in competitive play: the possibility of a hero being a member of the winning team when playing games. Certain restrictions apply, such as heroes with great victory rates but extremely low pick rates, who will not be automatically put in the top rankings.
  • Duty efficacy: the hero’s ability to perform their role as an Attacker, Tank, or Support.
  • Synergy with other heroes: Because Overwatch is a team-oriented game, heroes who can fit into any team composition will generally rank better.

With everything out of the way, let’s take a look at Overwatch’s most recent tier list.

Overwatch Current Meta Character Classification

The Overwatch characters are divided into six groups.

Group S: They are always exceptional in their respective roles. They are true heroes who care about the end result.

Group A: They are an excellent complement to characters from the S group.

Group B: These characters are excellent in their roles, although they do have weaknesses.

Group C: They do well in some situations but not in all.

Group D: These characters are incapable of winning arena bouts.

Group F: This is the weakest list in Group F.

S-Tier

S Tier

The best heroes in the game. They can fit into almost any party, as seen by their high pick and win rates.

These heroes are exceptional at what they do and are a constant source of conflict for the opposing team.

Hero               Role Description
Reinhardt           TankReinhardt is the embodiment of a tank. His shield covers a lot of ground and absorbs a lot of damage before breaking, making him indispensable in team engagements. He also has a fair damage potential thanks to “Charge,” which negates any potential disadvantages he might have.
AnaSupport Ana maintains a high pick and win rate despite being one of the most difficult heroes to master. Ana’s healing and buffs rely on pinpoint accuracy, which takes some getting used to. This is compensated by the fact that her skill set is incredibly handy. When you get acclimated to playing Ana, you’ll realise you’re playing the game’s best support hero.
McCreeAttackerIn terms of delivering much-needed offence for your squad, McCree ranks high. His skill set is ideal for close combat and picking off the squishier players of the other team. McCree gamers, like Ana, must spend a significant amount of time honing their aim because it determines how successful he can be.
MoiraSupportMoira’s ability to heal the team is essential in competitive play. She has good mobility and quick cool-downs, so it’s simple to see why she’s in the top tier. Moira’s potential emerges when she is coupled with other supporters such as Ana and Mercy. .
GenjiAttackerGenji is another difficult hero to master, but once you do, he is extremely rewarding for you and your squad. He possesses incredible mobility as well as a high damage potential. The finest Genji players dart over the map, easily dispatching members of the opposing group.
Zarya  TankZarya isn’t a slouch when it comes to tanks. Her passive, which increases her damage according on how much her shields take, adds to her utility. If you find yourself in the same team with Reinhardt and Zarya, brace yourself for a fight of attrition. .

A-Tier

A Tier

These are strong heroes with high win rates and good synergy with most party configurations.

They aren’t as powerful as the S-tiers in the current meta, but good players may easily dominate a battle with these heroes in their squad.

Hero
Role Description
MercySupportRemember when Mercy had an over 90 percent pick rate? Yes, those days are long gone, but Mercy remains in the A-tier due to her ability to heal and enhance the team in a pinch. Her ability to resurrect is also an instant advantage for any squad.
Lucio  SupportLucio assists the squad not only defensively but also offensively. Depending on the situation, his movement buff allows the team to quickly withdraw or chase down adversaries. Lucio’s wall run is the apex of Overwatch mobility, letting him to scout adversaries and reposition himself if necessary.
Sigma TankThe spotlight is on the newest member of the team. Sigma is a great tank, but he’s also a decent DPS hero.   He has a balanced attack and de fence, which is a positive for any squad. Sigma’s disadvantage is his high skill cap. To bring out Sigma’s full potential in matches, a highly good player would be required.
Hanzo AttackerHanzo is a multi-talented hero. He has great mobility, does a lot of damage, and is extremely rewarding for players that master him. Because of his sonic arrows, Hanzo is also an excellent scout.
RoadhogTankIt’s likely that the first tank you ever played as was Roadhog. He’s just so much joy to play with. Because of his huge health pool and regen ability, he also thrives in team combat. As long as the player uses appropriate positioning, his skill-set provides him with good damage.
Echo   AttackerEcho has an extremely low pick rate, which could be due to the fact that not many players are familiar with her yet (she was only added in Season 21). What cannot be denied is Echo’s incredible damage potential and mobility. If mastered, “Duplicate” is also one of the best skills in the game.

B-Tier

B Tier

These are good heroes who will work well with S and A-tier heroes or other heroes in the same tier. They have good pick/win percentages and so do not fall out of the competitive meta.

Hero               Role Description
Widowmaker           AttackerWidowmaker, the game’s best sniper, is difficult to master but nevertheless powerful when doing damage to opponents.   Because you have to consider setting your grappling hook and targeting while the combat is going on, she has a very high skill cap.
Doomfist           AttackerDoomfist isn’t used by many players, but he still wins more than half of his matches.   A good player will be able to use his Rocket Punch to instantaneously kill opponents as well as his other abilities to quickly engage and retreat from enemies.
D.Va  TankWhen you control D.Va, a lot of things happen. She has two forms, each with unique skills, and a variety of play-styles in which she can be used.   In the end, D.Va is a sturdy tank whose Defense Matrix can save the entire team in a critical fight.
Ashe   AttackerAshe is a genuine nuker if ever there was one. She can do massive damage to adversaries in a short period of time, making her useful in team engagements. The drawback to all of this offence is Ashe’s lack of mobility. If an opposing team focuses on Ashe at the outset of a fight, she can be rendered ineffective.
JunkratAttackerJunkrat possesses a bevvy of AoE strikes that can annoy an opposing team at any time. These strikes aren’t as powerful as those of other heroes, but they’re terrific for annoying opponents. Junkrat can also appear in the clutch since when he is killed, he drops live grenades.

C-Tier

C Tier

These average heroes will be successful provided the team composition is correct and the player has prior expertise with them.

They don’t have any distinguishing characteristics, but they also don’t have any obvious problems. You can try employing a large number of C-tiers in your next battle, but it will most likely take some time before you start witnessing winning streaks.

Hero               Role Description
Orisa   TankOrisa is regarded as a “complementary tank” who complements other tanks in the top ranks. She has good ranged damage and isn’t vulnerable to high damage thanks to “Fortify.”
Baptiste          SupportBaptiste has a lower win percentage than other heroes in this tier, although this is most likely due to how tough he is to master. He should be used on the back lines to keep your team alive while taking potshots at open opponents.
Soldier 76       AttackerSoldier 76 is an all-around performer. His move set is simple, making it simple for beginners to play him efficiently. He also does a lot of damage because his primary attack has less recoil than other heroes’.   He can use “Sprint” to quickly enter and exit engagements, and his AoE healing can be extremely useful when used appropriately. Attempting to be a jack-of-all-trades hero, Soldier 76 ends up being a mediocre hero in all aspects.
Brigitte           SupportBrigitte would be lower on this ranking if it weren’t for her hybrid talents as a tank/support hero.   Her ultimate is her biggest selling point, since it is quite useful in team fights, especially if you have multiple tanks on your team.

D-Tier

D Tier

These heroes have a specific application. Their talents are still useful, but there are just better options available for each particular function.

Hero  Role   Description
PharahAttackerPharah’s skill set is simple enough for beginners to grasp  but that’s all there is to it. She doesn’t flourish beyond a certain point, and her rocket accuracy is greatly dependant on player skill.
ReaperAttackerReaper’s arsenal concentrates around close combat, with two shotguns in hand. He can deal decent damage, but his defence and health are so poor that he doesn’t live long in clashes in the first place. His lifesteal passive is a wonderful ability, but it is insufficient given the amount of damage opponents may inflict on him.
Mei     AttackerMei’s de-buffs and ice wall are useful for annoying adversaries. She’s only average in terms of damage, and she has a high skill limit to master. If you decide to play Mei, be sure you’re in it for the long run.
Wrecking BallTankWrecking Ball just does not play like any other Overwatch hero. If you can pull off stylish plays with him, it’s the ultimate flex. But, in order to do it consistently, you’ll need to put in numerous hours of practise to perfect his skill set.
Tracer AttackerOverwatch’s poster child is in in need of a substantial buff. Tracer used to dominate the battlefield with her agility and swift shooting, but that’s all in the past.   She is now more useful as a harasser than as a nuker. This is an important consideration in competitive play because the best attackers can usually finish opponents off on their own.

F-Tier

F Tier

These heroes have entirely vanished from the meta and are now just useful in Quick Play experiments. Use these heroes if you like them. Just don’t expect everyone else in the competitive environment to be doing the same thing.

Hero  Role   Description
Torbjorn         AttackerMany players dislike playing against Torbjorn not because he is overpowered, but because of his playstyle, which revolves around camping one location. Torbjorn isn’t very effective in combat for the team, either, because he’s usually too far away.
Symmetra       AttackerSymmetra can only be efficiently used by a small number of people, as indicated by her incredibly low pick rate. Despite her character makeover, she still lacks the mobility to position herself effectively in team engagements. She can be a nuisance to tanks, but she dies so swiftly that she doesn’t always have an opportunity to do so.
Bastion           AttackerBastion’s damage output is without a doubt his finest quality. It’s a different storey if you can hit those shots without getting killed. Because of his continual reconfiguration, Bastion necessitates a high level of skill to master. You’ll wonder if all that time practising him was worth it because of deficiencies in other areas.
Sombra           AttackerYour team’s communication and coordination must be exceptional in order for Sombra to shine. This is rarely the case when fights break out and chaos ensues. Sombra struggles when she has to “respond” to various scenarios in matches.
Winston          TankTo win team fights, the current meta focuses on hefty tanks and mobility supports. Winston simply does not belong in any of this. The idea lingers that you should play Reinhardt instead because he is a far superior version of him.
Zenyatta         SupportZenyatta is marketed as a support hero who can also fight. This is far from his true nature, which is that he is an easy-to-kill hero with average support and damage skills.
